Waves of Life

Sacra kept hugging her, burying her face in her shoulder.

"Why were you with her?" He asked again.

(Gaise I hate firefox. ...ohh epic. this computer has a spellcheck.)

Tabbitha murmured words of comfort, frowning as she glanced over at Mot and Jared.

Jared shrugged. "She found me." He said simply.

(Lmao, no, Firefox has a spellcheck.)

"And what happened to Vyta?"

Jared scowled slightly. "Some... uh... Jeertoe thing showed up."

"Gyrento?" Tabbitha looked up at him. "How did you escape?"

"It wanted a snack before the main course—us," he said when she gave him an odd look.

"Don't talk about him like that!" Sacra seethed now, glaring back at Jared angrily.

Mot looked over at Sacra and back to Jared.

Jared frowned. He said nothing this time, knowing it wouldn't work.

"Let's just get back to the village." Tabbitha murmured, standing up and wrapping an arm around Sacra's shoulders.

Sacra looked up at her and frowned, nodding only.

Mot went past him, but kept his bow out if the Gyrento decided to return for either of them.

Jared followed him, and Tabbitha led Sacra after the both of them while holding her blade at the ready.

Mot kept walking, but stopped when he heard a rustle of bushes near by. He pulled back the bow string once again and looked around, his eyes narrowed dangerously.

A Gyrento was nearby, dragging a Dorrien body away from where he had killed it. Mentiyri didn't seem to notice them, to intent on his meal. Mot aimed the bow carefully, completely focused on his shot now.

Tabbitha moved Sacra behind her, having heard it as well, holding her blade at the ready as she scowled at the Gyrento barely visible.

Sacra gripped at Tabbitha's shirt, looking around her barely. Mot fired his shot, but Mentiyri jumped back so that the arrow landed in the ground. Scowling, Mentiyri looked over all of the people there. His scowl seemed to all but disappear. 'All of them...' He let go of the Dorrein, but didn't move from his spot.

Tabbitha pointed her blade toward Mentiyri, growling. Jared blinked a few times, looking at them all.

"I just want what I have, I don't plan on harming you." Mentiyri growled. "But I will fight if you strike at me."

Tabbitha blinked a few times and glanced at Mot.

Mot scowled and raised his bow again. Mentiyri growled at him and took the Dorrien in his mouth again, dragging it away from them now.

"Leave it, Mot. Don't begin an unnessecary battle." Tabbitha said calmly.

Mot shook his head but lowered his bow anyway. He went forward again without a word, much more hastily than before.

Jared did the same, and Tabbitha followed them quickly enough she was walking beside Mot. She gently pulled Sacra out from behind her and between her and Mot.

Sacra looked up at her and over to Mot now. She tugged on his shirt gently, and he placed his hand on her shoulder.

Jared walked behind the trio, looking pretty confused. I didn't have a right to snap at her like that. It was an animal, but it was her friend. It knew what was going on.

Sacra took a hold of his hand after a moment, squeezing it gently.

Vyta knew he was dying for us. Jared thought, slightly shocked for the realization. This world seems pure. But with those... Gyrento... how is it ever at peace? How is this a new beginning? I'm off to a horrible start already. Maybe I'm just not cut out for... anything. Jared sighed to himself, looking off to the side.

Sacra looked back at Jared after a few more moments. She frowned and fell back so she was walking beside him and looked up at him. "Mr. Jared?"

Jared looked down at her. "Yes?" She's pure, too. It was like there was a link between her and the horse. He thought. He glanced ahead at Mot and Tabbitha again. ...Surely they're siblings or something? Not... parents? He made a face at the thought, but composed himself instantly.

"I only wanted to offer refuge" Tinork said. He walked back to the church, feeling as if he has failed "I do pray that she returns. Maybe I should have ran after her. No no no that only would have caused more harm." Tinork sat back in a pew that he had been sitting on to think. "But she can get lost, or worse. I can't let that happen to her. 'It is the lost that need help, not the found'." And with that he went back into the forest, to the exact spot from where he left off. Luckily, no animal had covered her tracks from when he left. "Good, I can follow this." Tinork said, following the footprints.
