Freia headed over to the said section and began to look at the books.

"He thought you were a Soul Searcher." Kendra mumbled back.

Charlie closed his eyes, seeming hopeless. "I've let so much happen to you that I could have been able to prevent if I had been more aware."

Acacia followed her.

"Still."

Morrigan frowned but didn't say anything.

Freia frowned, sighing. "I think I might be starting to slip on my German. I don't know if I'd be able to read it anymore."

Kendra jumped at a small noise suddenly and looked around, moving closer to him and unable to reply.

Charlie sighed again and said, "I'm sorry. I'm not helping matters. I just... I don't know anymore. It's hard..."

"Do you want me to test you?"

Duncan frowned. "Why are you so antsy?"

Morrigan frowned even more and bit her lip. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you like this."

"Can you write German?" Freia asked, tilting her head.

"I told you that I would tell you when we went back." Kendra mumbled.

Charlie shook his head, taking her hands. "Morrigan, this isn't your fault." He whispered.

"No, but I'm sure there's books here."

Duncan sighed and walked past her without another word. 'Why in the hell did I get the stubborn one?'

"I made you worry like this, I'm sorry."

Freia frowned. "But where? This place is huge."

Kendra grabbed his hand once again, following him closely and looking around in a half-panicked fashion. Once they began to pass an alley, she glanced into it to actually find herself face to face with the person she had seen earlier. She gasped and jumped backward, away from him; as he straightened up and began to back off again, looking remotely shocked. He turned around and began to run almost casually, glancing over his shoulder continually. Then he slowed down and looked back once again, and tilted his head. "Kendra?"

"No, go!" She yelled at him. She grabbed Duncan's jacket and hugged him tightly, as if she could meld into him to hide. "Why are you even alive?!" She sounded desperate for him to simply vanish.

"Don't be like that." He sounded dejected. "I haven't seen you in a long time."

"It's better that way!"

"I would worry like this no matter what." Charlie took her face in his hands and kissed her softly. "I love you."

"I'm sure we could find it."

Duncan looked between them silently but moved between them so that she was behind him and he was facing the stranger. He let his hand rest on his pocket that had his knives. 'This is why she's nervous.' He narrowed his eyes. "If she said to leave, I'd go."

Morrigan kissed him back. "I love you too."

"If you think we could." Freia smiled a bit.

The stranger tilted his head and asked, "Who're you?" All the same he seemed to find him intimidating, and began to back off. Kendra stared at him and looked around quickly, as if expecting someone else to walk out at any minute. God, what if he's met up with Daniel?

Charlie hugged her and sighed to himself, stroking her hair.

Acacia smiled lightly. "Come on, we could look for them now."

Duncan cleared his throat. "Name's Duncan Snyder. Former Quarternary, now employed as a guard dog."

Morrigan hugged him back and frowned lightly.

Freia nodded slightly. "Okay. I don't think there'll be any, though..."

He blinked and said, "A Soul Searcher? With Kendra?" He glanced past him at her. "What irony. Are you one too, then?"

"No." Kendra said, shaking her head quickly.

"Figures."

"I'd leave before he figures out who you are." Kendra advised quietly.

Charlie looked down at her and forced a smile.

"Don't give up hope yet."

Duncan looked back at her and looked to the stranger with hardened eyes. "Wild guess, but is your name Logan, perhaps?"

Morrigan forced a small smile back.

Freia frowned, shrugging and began to go through the books.

Kendra gritted her teeth. "Too late."

The stranger tilted his head. "Yeah, so what?"

"Do you want to go anywhere?" Charlie asked.

Acacia frowned slightly and went another way.

Duncan scowled and handed the doll to Kendra. "Hold this please."

"We should probably get something to eat if you're hungry."

Freia continued to look, sighing to herself.

Kendra grabbed his wrist instead and shook her head. "It isn't worth it."

Logan continued to watch them, looking perplexed. "Hm..." He mumbled, turning as he walked away now.

"Are you hungry?"

Acacia continued to look as well. yey looking.

"Kendra, please." He growled. "Let me do this."

"A little." She grinned.

Freia feels the need to skip the looking montage.

Kendra didn't reply or let go, frowning.

Charlie grinned slightly and said, "Then we should probably..." He coughed. "Get dressed."

Acacia does too.

She walked back to Freia after a while with a few books in hand. "Freia!"

Duncan growled again and shoved the doll into her hands before pulling away and walking after Logan.

Morrigan laughed lightly and kissed him. "Too bad there's no room service." She said with a smirk.

Freia looked up at Acacia, turning to her. "You found some?"

Kendra stared after him. "Duncan!"

Logan glanced back and turned halfway while still moving. "Hey, easy. Dunno what she told you." He turned and sped up slightly.

"Tch, I wish." Charlie said as he kissed her back.

"Yes." She grinned, holding them out.

"She told me what an ass you were to her. I've decided to only take some of your skin now, and then waiting until later to take the rest off." He said, walking towards him still as he pulled out a knife. "In case you somehow don't know who I am, I'm one of the cruelest people on this God forsaken planet." He smirked slightly. "I might leave in all your organs and take them out as I'm killing you, I haven't decided yet."

Morrigan smirked again and slipped out of bed, getting dressed and looking back at him.

Freia took them and set them down, opening one of them and looking down at it. She turned a few more pages to the first page of the book.

"Duncan!" Kendra said, staring after him.

Logan backed off a bit more and scowled, turning and taking off.

Charlie did the same and held his hand out for hers.

Acacia sat beside her and looked down at the book as well.

Duncan grinned and ran after him, but somehow tripped [damn nails] and fell falt on his face. He remained still for a moment before cursing angrily and getting up quickly to kick the dirt [because that helps]. "Fucking..."

Morrigan took his hand and smiled lightly.

Freia frowned and began to read it out loud to herself quietly, having to pause every now and then.

Logan glanced back after hearing the thud and laughed at him before turning and disappearing behind other buildings.

Kendra ran over to Duncan quickly. "Are you okay?" She demanded.

Charlie led her out of the room and headed down the hall with a content smile.

"Do you want help?"

Duncan cursed after him and sat down on the ground, making a pouty face. "My dignity was killed."

Morrigan smiled and laid her her head on his shoulder as they walked.
