"Because she was supposed to die on the eve of 2012! No one escapes me!" Daniel seethed. He held up a knife warily.

"I could have done more." Travis said. "Don't worry yourself. I'll stop. Just rest."

"First time for everything." Duncan said with a smirk.

Selene frowned but said nothing more.

Daniel growled grotesquely. "She's going to die by my hand no matter who gets in my way."

Travis rested his head on hers again, holding her close.

"Even me?" Duncan grinned. "I'm going to be in your way," he grabbed the burnt hand and grabbed one of his fingers. "Every." He pushed it back until it snapped, and went to the next finger. "Single," he broke that one as wall. "Time." He broke the next two before letting go and moving back.

Daniel was unable to react for the pain, and stared down at his hand after Duncan moved. His face twisted in rage and he looked up at Duncan. He stared at his hands and watched as they suddenly twisted, his wrists snapping and all of his fingers snapping as well. Daniel let out a yell as half of the bones left broke as well, and glared toward him darkly.

"Yeah it is." Travis said. "Should've killed him when he was down in the beginning and not listened to that fucking idiot."

Duncan stared at him and tilted his head. "Shit, I didn't mean for that to happen." He smirked slightly. "That was kinda cool though."

Selene frowned and said nothing again.

"Yeah, I have more in store." Daniel said through gritted teeth. "We can both walk away from this now."

Travis kissed her forehead after a bit. "I'm making you unhappy."

Duncan scowled. "I've never run from a fight."

"No you aren't." Selene mumbled, but smiled just slightly.

"Hmph." Daniel scoffed. He flexed his good hand very carefully and looked at him. "How exactly do we fight with no hands?" He smirked.

Travis noticed her smile and allowed one himself, brushing her hair back. "This is my favorite color." He said, playing with her hair in his fingers. "Or maybe..." He looked into her eyes. "Maybe that one."

Duncan smiled slightly. "Very, very carefully."

Selene slowly smiled, fully now, and laughed lightly. "I love you. You do know how to make me happy." She said, snuggling closer to him. 'Maybe he's wrong. I've seen a side of him, this side, that no one else has seen. Of course, he's since a side of me that doesn't often come out.'

"You first, then."

Travis held her closer as she snuggled in and kissed her forehead. He didn't answer her, but grinned for her sake.

"Nah, you can go."

Selene waited, expecting him to say I love you back, but frowned when he didn't. 'Maybe I spoke too soon.'

"Thought you liked to be first?" Daniel asked incredulously, shifting his weight from foot to foot.

Travis looked down at her and frowned as well. "What did I do now?" He immediately asked, frowning worriedly.

"I'm being polite." Duncan said with a grin.

Selene stared at him and shook her head. "Nothing," she muttered. 'Never mind.'

Daniel rolled his eyes. "So am I."

Travis frowned. "What?" He asked, more quietly.

"Then I guess we'll be here for a while."

Selene shook her head. "It's nothing, I promise."
